Living away from my family since my college, my family and I have developed an estrangement. This estrangement took form of silences in the early days of quarantine. My mother declared that we should play Ludo to fill in these silences. Yet another diversion, yet another distraction to not talk about our differences, yet another bandaid solution. Lucky enough, I was wrong. This time, we talked about our distance, we recognized other one’s side, we took our turns to express our feelings and recognize each other’s struggle. We never played the board game, but turn by turn, we were able to reconcile our mental Ludo.
